WELCOME

My love affair with the Doberman Pinscher started in 1969 with a black pet quality bitch.

My first show dog came along in 1973, a black male, Ch. Electra’s High Voltage, sired by Ruth McCourt’s Gra-Lemor Hannibal d. El Dorado. “Volt’s” first show was judged by Joe Lynch and he was first out of fourteen 2-4 month old Puppy Dogs at a specialty match. This was quite an achievement for an untrained puppy and his inexperienced owner. Volt became a big winner, number two Doberman in the country, a multiple Best in Show and Specialty winner.  Volt was killed in a tragic accident at the height of his show career.

In 1976 at the DPCA National Specialty in Atlanta I met Tommie Jones of Kai Esa’s Dobermans. It was the beginning of another great friendship with yet another very knowledgeable breeder. Ruth McCourt and Tommie Jones, both extremely intelligent women, both totally devoted to the breed for over 30 years, were my tutors.  I have gained so much from their many years of invaluable experience.  I could not have wished for two better teachers.

It was at this show where I fell in love with and was able to purchase my new foundation bitch, who later became Ch. Kai Esa’s Cameo. And so Electra Dobermans began in earnest.  On these few pages you will find some of my story and philosophies.

Cameo’s dam was Ch. Kai Esa’s Holly Go Lightly. Holly was the result of a half-brother, half-sister breeding on Ch. Singendwald’s  Prince Kuhio, and she was prepotent for the same “look” I am seeing in her great, great, great, grandkids. Her second litter was sired by Ch. Beaulane the Union Jack and resulted in the good producing Ch. Electra’s Rally Round the Flag.  Ch. Electra’s Rally Round the Flag was a very showy bitch and always looked her best standing on her own and baiting.  She finished in ten shows and before her second birthday. I thought about specialing her, but I wanted to breed her first and I know now that was a wise decision.  Her first litter was a very close line breeding (double first cousins) sired by Ch Beaulane Wind Fall, whose sire was Cameo’s full brother, Ch. Kai Esa’s Passing Parade. This breeding produced three champions, Ch. Electra’s Zephyr, Ch. Electra’s Shaitan and Ch. Electra’s The Windwalker.

The only things really worth attaining are the ones that seem completely unattainable.
